I purchased a car for 22,000, financed over 72 months, in April of 2016. I made 2 payments of 5,000 before December of 2016. They harassed me and charged late fees for a December payment, even though I paid 45% of the car off within a year. I requested a written policy and amortization schedule to understand how payments were applied. They have not yet provided. I also inquired about their policy of repossessing the vehicle. They said they would still repossess my car even though I have accelerated payments by almost 2 years. This IS TERRIBLE!!

They suck!! They charge repossession fees before the car is actually taken and if you are just a day late they harass you constantly. They even send someone to your home if they have a local bank. Most stressful loan I ever had. Would give no stars if could!

SunTrust has been okay over the length of my loan, but when I wanted to trade in my car, I spoke with the worst customer service rep ever. He gave me such an attitude that I almost hung up so I could call back and get another person. So impolite and not courteous. What a great customer service rep.

Does this bank not train their employees? Honestly. I spoke with a woman, trying to figure out a better (quicker) option to pay my bill because at the present it was taking 5 business days. She basically told me I could open an account with the bank (there are no branches near my town) or pay a hefty fee to pay over the phone. No, thank you. Maybe you guys should get a better payment option and better train your staff on where your branches are located.

I can't handle that there is no online account management!! I didn't think twice about it because I figured I'd just pay SunTrust directly with checks. In under one year, they have “misplaced” two of my payments. I have to now pay late fees and what not because THEY lost them! It's so unfair.

SunTrust takes their payment out of my account whenever they feel like it. Some months it is toward the beginning, other times it is the last day of the month. I have never once received a monthly statement for my payments, so I have absolutely no idea how much I am paying towards interest or principle each month. I literally have to call to get my balance. SO inconvenient.

The choices that SunTrust gives you to pay your monthly bill are almost comical. I can only access my account information if I open up a SunTrust account, really? I really do not want to send in anything by mail, because I've had issues with that in the past. I'm so frustrated but I guess I'll be taking my payments to the nearest branch from now on.

My disappointment with SunTrust has only increased since the beginning of my loan. Getting it was okay, not too many issues there. But the fact that I can't do anything online and SunTrust is supposed to be a major bank is really confusing. I just assumed that all things were paid online now. Also, I don't want any more bank accounts. No thank you.

I understand that loans are meant to be repaid and if you don't, there will be consequences. But when I cosigned for my daughters car and she missed two payments by a week each, I did not expect her car to be towed away. She was injured and could not work as much as before, and spoke with the company to let them know. Even so, there is now a repo on both our credits.

I wasn't aware that SunTrust didn't offer online loan services when I originally applied for a car loan. My only options are now to sit on the phone with customer service so they can give me some info about my account. They need to get up with modern times and put everything online so their customers can easily see what they are paying.

Of all the car loans I have ever gotten in my life, SunTrust has by far been the easiest to get. But, that being said, they are also the worst loan and loan company I've ever had. They took what felt like forever to give me the final pay off amount for the loan, then I noticed that the amount was incorrect. It also took almost a month to get my title. It should have been quicker than that, and they should be more accurate with their numbers.

Could SunTrust make it anymore inconvenient to have loans through them?? I tried to make an online payment, but because I don't have an actual SunTrust account, I get charged a crazy fee! Really? I can't believe it. I'm already paying X amount in interest and other fees, now a fee just to pay?

SunTrust needs to get with the times! Why can't you make a payment online unless you open a checking account with them? It doesn't make any sense. I got a low interest rate, but this really makes me entire loan experience with them super inconvenient. It would be nice if they could modernize their company.

Unbelievably horrible customer service! I have been literally trying for WEEKS to get them to provide the correct documents so I can refinance my car with another company. I have spoken with numerous people in different departments, and it hasn't been resolved yet. They just WON'T provide them!

This is the time of technology, so why I can't view my account online? This is the only monthly bill I have where I can't look at it online, or even pay online. I do everything online, so the fact that I have to pay another way makes it super inconvenient on my part. I don't even write paper checks anymore, but now I guess I have to.

SunTrust is NOT a reliable bank to get a loan through. I was a few days late with my payment and they hounded me with harassing contacts. They are so concerned about getting your money but they have the audacity to charge you $15 to make an online payment. Yes, $15. That is absolutely unheard of. They are not customer friendly.

I hate to say this, but SunTrust was one of the worst mistakes I've ever made. All I do is pay fee after fee, and they seem to keep coming. Even getting the loan was frustrating. I had to speak with different people and give the same information over and over again. I can't wait to be able to refinance! I'd love to be done with this company.

I got a loan through SunTrust, and so far, everything is going well. I didn't have any issues with the application process. All of the customer service reps I've spoken to are very nice and pleasant. They always answer my questions as needed. I just don't get why there is no online payment option. That's a little strange considering the times.

All in all I had no problems with Suntrust. I got my loan through my dealership because they had the lowest interest rate offered to me. When I contacted their customer service line, they were nothing but helpful to me. They also were very nice and polite. I'm a few months in, and so far there are no issues.

I almost went with another company for my car loan but felt like I could get a lower rate with my credit. SunTrust offered me something lower, and I went with them. I had a fine experience with the loan in general. I haven't had any issues where I had to contact them, but it's been smooth sailing since the beginning.

I'm a little frustrated with this company. I tried to prepay but apparently you can only prepay three months at a time. I ended up getting a late fee because what I paid didn't actually count, it just went toward principle or something like that. I checked my contract and nowhere it says that you can't prepay more than 3 months. Super frustrating.
